North West Texel Breeders Club Annual Show and Sale of Pedigree Texel Females
IN-LAMB TEXELS A TASTY TRADE
The North West Texel Breeders Club annual show and sale of Pedigree Texel females was held at North West Auctions J36 on Saturday 3rd January 2026, where the ringside atmosphere was turbo charged.
A fantastic sale was had from start to finish resulting in a 100% clearance.
A superb show of animals featured in the pre-sale show, with credit going to the vendors for the quality on offer. A special mention goes to our pre-sale judge Tom Pyman of the Thacka Flock, who we thank for his time and expertise.
The sale kicked off with aged ewes, topping the trade was a 1 crop Strathbogie ewe from the Logram flock selling to the Anglezarke flock of Chorley for 2000gns in lamb to Summersyke I Predict A Riot.
Trade didn’t stall with the shearling gimmers, with the pre-sale show Champion from Messrs C Boden’s Mellor Vale flock selling to Miss Shuttleworth of Barbon for 2500gns. Close behind was a flashy shearling gimmer from R & E Campbell’s Cowal flock selling to the Tuson flock of Bamber Bridge for 2000gns.
Next there were sought after animals from both Sportsmans and Partridge Nest selling to 1800gns each.
Ewe lambs sold to 650gns from the Stainton flock.

DUTCH SPOTTED
Dutch Spotted delights at J36
A first-class trade witnessed for Dutch Spotted females at J36’s annual sale.
Trade topped at 1600gns for the days champion, the in lamb gimmer shearling from C Harding, Chester which makes her way home with local breeder A Metcalfe, Kendal. Next at 1400gns was again a gimmer shearling, this time from D Bezuidenhojt, Saltburn with this home selling others at 1000gns. Reaching 1100gns was a gimmer shearling from the Grayrigg Foot pen courtesy of DA Dixon, who sold others to 900gns.
Gimmer hoggs met a great deal of interest selling to 700gns from DA Dixon. RJ Heigh sold to 650gns with both M Veitch & RA Lancaster selling their pick at 600gns.
In lamb ewes sold to 600gns from M Veitch, Penrith with M Rowlandson, Flookburgh achieving 550gns.

MULTI BREED
Beltex females met a tasty trade with these carcass queens reaching 1000gns for in lamb shearlings from A Morton, Stirling. M Davis, Eldroth sold theirs to 650gns with RJ & J Towers, Ingleton achieving 600gns. TC Whiteford, Tercrosset presented their usual top quality with these reaching 550gns x2.
Blue Texels sold to 750gns from M Davis, Eldroth with this good home presenting Badger Face Texels to 650gns. RJ & J Towers, Ingleton sold the sole Charollais entry, this sold to a very respectable 680gns.
